Hello everyone.
A week or so ago I got some red flickering on the edges of windows and my task bar, but tought nothing of it. After a while it crashed by making the screen garbled and unreponsive (altough the cursor was still visible, albeit not moveable).
I just restarted and tought nothing of it, it didn't come back.
Today, however, I got red flickering again. By the time it caught my eye It'd already crashed. I tried restarting, but saw the red flickering almost instantly upon logging in and shut it down.
I let it rest for a while and tried again, this time racing to get the AMD device drivers, but I was too late.
This time, however, I got a proper BSOD instead of a garbled screen.
What follows is the error log I got after ooting into safe mode.
It should be said that I am using Aero, and that safe mode seems to be working properly.

My graphics card is an AMD mobility radeon HD 5650. (I'm failing to update the drivers atm)
Attached is the result of using the diagnostic utility's "Grab All" utility.

EDIT: Doing some googling myself, I am starting to severly suspect my graphics card. I'll try to update my drivers again.

EDIT 2: I've managed to boot up in normal mode and turn off Aero before the flickering started. I'm currently updating my drivers. I hope the flickering doesn't start again :/

Hi miauw62.

Due to some probles with Microsoft's public symbol server, it is bit of difficlut to read the dumps ATM, but still what we can see that it is a BugCheck A0000001, Probably caused by : atikmdag.sys ( atikmdag+23a0c ).

BugCheck A0000001 is inherent in AMD/ATI display driver, and at this point what you first try is to alter the display driver's version.

It appears that you are using the display driver that is WHQL 13.4.
Code:
    Image name: atikmpag.sys
    Timestamp: Fri Apr 26 01:54:01 2013 (517990E1)
Update your ATI/AMD display driver to the latest, WHQL 13.9.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Let us know the result.

Thank you for your reply. I have updated the drivers and I'll now try to turn Aero back on to see if it worked.

(It's quite annoying that you can't update the drivers in Safe Mode)
