I bought a refurbished HP SFF PC. The COA sticker says "Windows 7 Pro for refurbished PC's".
I haven't turned it on yet to see if it has a bunch of bloat ware from HP.
Can I download the Windows 7 Pro .iso and do a clean install using the COA sticker?

I bought the computer to mess around with, it won't have any important files on it and will be used by guests that come over, I don't want them touching my main PC.

Most refurbs have minimal bloatware - but I've never actually seen one that hasn't been in use for a while.
They are supposed to be imaged from clean (i.e. no the maufacturer's) disks from the refurbisher, so unless your was one of the bigger outfits, it's likely to be bare-bones, with possibly an AV, and an Office Trial on it.

So far as I know, the COA Key is valid in exactly the same way as a 'normal' one - and can be reinstalled as many time as you like on the same hardware, using either the refurbisher's recovery media or retail media.

Why don't you make an image of what's on there. Then you can mess with it. This is most likely not worth it though.

Been busy with other stuff so I haven't bought a cable yet. There is a disc included, found it after I went through the box before throwing it out. Good thing I did, the disc is: "Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, includes service pack 1, for distribution with a refurbished PC".

Use the activation code on your pc; it'll work fine on any 7 disc.

Sounds like a vanilla install then - no bloat, if you're lucky!

Hello,

I don't know if it is important any more, but I bought a refurbished Windows 7 PC here Gebrauchte Notebooks, Computer und Monitore günstig online kaufen
It is a Lenovo and was preinstalled without any bloatware. Also the activation was complete. Anyway I have done a new installation, because I change the HDD. The activation code on the PC worked fine for me and also the activation with the microsoft telephone support worked without a problem.

So in my opinion there will be no problem if you download the windows 7 .iso an install it with your key.
In the past I only had problems with .iso files from the microsoft partner website. (they sometimes don't accept any key)
