Reg cleaner problem

When doing a search with my reg cleaner, it finds a number of missing files, that when navigating to the path shown, some of the "missing" files are actually there, while some are not. This is true in both the English and British directories. The question is less about the files that do exist, but those that don't...should they? If so, where would one find them? I'm speaking of files that are native to the OS, not of some third party program.

Er, no offense but what has this got to do with Speech Recognition?

I was just about to edit my post, when I got your post notification. Rethinking it, I realized that these files are not for speech recognition, but for generating speech. I will edit the topic, but leave the rest as is.

EDIT: Well, I tried, but even though the title changed in the thread, it remains as it was on the forum menu. Sometimes it changes, sometimes it doesn't.

Okay.
I'd say, if there are no problems there is no point in trying to fix it.
But anyway, do different reg cleaners come up with the same result?

A list of the files might help. ;)

Also what problem are you having? (Why are you running a reg cleaner? Which one are you running?)

Lil' Domii,

I only use one reg cleaner, and while I don't yet know why it is complaining about missing files that aren't, that doesn't dispose of the question about the files that are not there. It would be very difficult to know if it is working, without having it trying to say every word that exists, therefore it would be simpler to determine the status of the files in question.

What is the name of the reg cleaner that you use?

Maybe you can take a screen shot of the files that its saying are not valid?

It will take a while to be able to give a list of the files, because I didn't write them down, and will have to run the cleaner again. As for why I run a reg cleaner, I know that many of you believe that they are an unnecessary evil, but I do not share that opinion. The evil is in how the user uses the program. My cleaner is CMPC.

I can't find a link to that application.

But, here is a person that completely hosed his system by using that application.

Very kind of you to remind me of my mistake. Mistakes are the means that we learn by. If we never do anything that might turn out wrong, we won't learn anything. That problem was more due to my misuse of the program, than it was to the program's error.

EDIT: If that was the purpose in asking which cleaner that I use, then I don't know why you also asked about which files were effected. I guess it was a waste of time to post them.

Speech is an integrated part of Windows and is used for accessibility to read out control panel pages etc. I would therefore leave that alone.

I would recommend that you try ccleaner's registry fixer. Its the most reliable program Ive found so far.

The only reg cleaner I would use is CCleaner's Reg tab. It is the state of the art cleaner amongst tech professionals.
