Currently the only program I trust is ccleaner which does have a registry fixer.

Then why not just uninstall it and install CCleaner?

I wouldnt touch that program with a 60 foot pole, it corrupted my registry everytime i ran it, and my w7 install wouldnt boot, forcing me to do a fresh install.

My advice, dont use reg cleaners as of yet, most of these cleaners are built for other OS's, so using them on W7 can make quite a mess.

I use REGCURE on Win7 all the time... works GOOD, never a problem.
I also use REGCURE with Vista SP2 ... all the time and never a problem that way either.

I used reg claners on my vista, but when i got to W7 it reigned havoc :S

I second that mate, the registry structure for Windows 7 is different to that of Vista (similar, but still different) therefor software designed primerily for Vista is going to eventually cause problems.

I am using CCleaner on Windows 7 but I am using it very CAREFULLY.

I also create system restore points and do an image backup before I clean the registry.

With an RC it is a threefold problem - a) Bad/incompatible install/uninstall b) Bug in Windows 7 c) Bug in registry cleaning tool.

I for one, use REGCURE, and also take it with me to every customers, I go to, It is a MUST HAVE for me. I also have 100% faith in it ... never lost a system, and simply can not understand

I dont bother with reg cleaners at all because I dont trust any of them. If my system becomes too sluggish or plays up too much, I know its time to grab the Windows disc and format it! ;)

I used to always use REGCURE on my vista 32 system. I decided to try it on Win7 64 RC and my system didn't start up properly. It just went to a black screen and never went to the login screen. Luckily there is an easy fix if you still want to try it, maybe REGCURE needs compatability mode or something.

1. make a system restore point before clean
2. if system doesn't boot properly, boot from your install disk
3. go to the option of repair my computer, i think its on the second page
4. use system restore to restore to the restore point you made in step1
5. you computer should start up normally

regcure on win seven

i learned the hard way way back on xp when running regcure make sure you uncheck the look for duplicate dll,s as with all reg cleaners i am using win 7 now and just ran regcure to see what the fuss is about unchecked dup dll,s had no problems i prefer cc cleaner though because its free and works just as well if not better in some cases it seems that all the reg cleaners do this or at least the ones i have tried no matter what os system must be sum type of bug or something
