Regedit backup please

So I changed the default file path for installing files on my regedit and now I cant even open most of my programs, it gives me a "Windows can not find (path) please make sure you typed it correctly, then try again later" even when I go directly to the path and run the application there, can someone please give me a backup of the regedit file path that has the default file paths, I'm using windows 7 professional.

Should be under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

then the one that says “ProgramFilesDir”

Please help, most of my programs wont even start, I cant even open regedit to do this myself.

It's just C:\Program Files And for ProgramFilesDir (x86) it's C:\Program Files (x86)

I'm curious as to why you thought a registry edit such as the above would change the default path for installation?

You're best, first option would be to do a system restore to restore the reg for you, be sure to select a a date before you made the changes; have a look at the tutorial at the link below; be sure to keep us informed.

Well if that didnt do it, then is there any reason why whenever I try to most files in my C Drive I get the above error? this morning I also noticed a new folder in a seperate drive called Virtual Store, would that have anything to do with it?

Try doing a system restore at boot instead using a restore point dated before you made these registry changes to see if that may help.

It would be METHOD TWO in the system restore link instead to do it through "System Recovery Options".
