Registation question (for the admins)

During registration there is an 'OS' section that is labeled;

Additional Required Information (option)
-----

Why is this 'Required' as well as an [option]?

This is a required field in the form.

Can this this title be changed to omit the word 'option', or redefine to whatever it is you are trying to convey that does not indicate an 'optional' field?
