Any help greatly appreciated please...
I have a Win 7 Home Premium SP 1 install on HP s5704y desktop.

NET Bottom line:

I deleted 2 DLLs by accident and do not know where to look to try to find them.
I believe they are registered, but the files no longer exist.
The 1st DLL name is CNx2010C.DLL and may be related to a Canon WIA Scanner program, not sure though.

Again any help on how to find these files or replace them would be greatly appreciated so much!
Thanks, Dave
Further details below,

What happened:
1). After removing Norton AV and installing AVG2013, all went well. Everything working no error msgs on boot.

2). Ran Malware Antibytes to recheck for viruses and it flagged 2 DLL's which were quarantined and deleted.
Computer still boots fine and runs programs and everything it seems fine.

3). Problem is: after the 2 DLL files were deleted, get error message at boot completion which is:
RegSvr32 The module "C:\User\Username\AppData\Local\HP\CNx2010C.DLL"
Make sure the file is stored at the location....... (which it is not there because it got deleted accidentally)
resulting in "The module could not be found"
so I believe this DLL and one other that are missing because the got deleted are indeed registered....
So where can I get the 2 missing DLL files I need to fix this problem?

The first DLL name that got deleted is CNx2010C.DLL
The 2nd DLL name that got deleted is similar but I did not have time to write it down before it got deleted. My thinking is if I get the first known one restored somehow, it will identify the name of the other one needed, and will use a similar process to copy both files back to their missing location shown above.

What I really need is:
To be able to find this DLL file so I can copy it back to the correct path, replacing itwhich will fix the problem: CNx2010C.DLL is the first file name, and I will have the other file name once I get this one replaced, by similar message saying other DLL is missing as well.

Thanks anyone for your thoughts and help in advance!
Sincerely, Dave

Additional research and info as FYI:
Perhaps these DLL's may be related to a Cannon Scanner using WIA?

Hi Dave -

What I would do is uninstall the AVG bloatware which we see only problems with here (though not as bad as Norton). To get it cleanest I'd use the AVG uninstaller | Download tools and utilities. Be sure to reboot when prompted.

Install Microsoft Security Essentials to rule out AV interference. This is the AV most recommended here where we know Win7 the best since before the OS was released.

Then uninstall the Canon Software, reboot, then reinstall using the latest Canon software package for your model from the Canon Support Downloads webpage which may be newer than any disk you have.

Jacee and GregRocker,
Thanks to both of you so much for taking the time to reply!
I do have a Canon camera and will try reinstalling that device to see if it cures the problem.
If that does not work, I will try reinstalling the printer as well as it has a scanner and uses TWAIN compliant which requires WIA I have learned. I used the computer a lot this morning and everything works great. It just gives that message when powering up after full boot, so I believe you both nailed the issue.
Thanks again, Dave
