This is the debate: To clean or not to clean the registry? As you can gather from the numerous post of pro's and con's on this subject, it is a very touchy subject. You have some that swear by the software and others say it's all bad.
The biggest issue with a registry cleaner is that they're not perfect. Some cleaners will clean out the bad as well as the good. Which can really dork up a system...easily repairable by running system repair. So what is one to do....ah that is the real question.
From my experience using registry cleaners, some which were good and others which were bad. I tend to stay away from them...bottom line is they can do more harm than good. Just my opinion. Some will agree with this and others won't.
I've learned the hard way, through trial and error of using said registry cleaners, to manually edit the registry of unwanted left over strings. And on occasion, was forced to go into the registry to remove a string in order to complete the removal of some software that was causing some unwanted results. However, this is not for your average user because to edit the registry can render your system inoperable if not done correctly.
So, the choice is yours to make. Gather all the evidence and formulate your own conclusion as to use a registry cleaner or to manually edit the registry or for the novice to leave well enough alone. Good luck..
