Registry Corupted - please help!

my story is silly... I knew I should have not erased a registry key... let's starts first things first:
I have a brand new win7-64bit system, and I experienced many problems with my USB-MIDI devices that required me to reinstall several times this driver. However, due to some strange problems, win7 can't find the driver it installed previously and needed that I cleaned the registry before to re-plug my device... but this time, I went too fast and wrongly erased the folowing registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

I found no way to fix this key, and can only find a vista or xp registry key like this (but is not apparently fully valid for win7):

I do not have a key to send, but if no one else comes along that can help you try system restore to make things good again.

I tryed already a system restore, and got an error (0x80042302).
this is weird, i do not like it, also, i have a pretty clean new system dedicated to music with no exotic stuff...

yes, but when I tried to restore it, i receive also the same VSS service issue (0x80042302).

I know this is bad sign, but my priory goal now is to fix this registry key...

I would not want to advise you on that. Be patient someone will come along. We will help you, we have such a large number of good people, that very few leave here unhappy.

Yes, you send me the full registry key (that is why it is so big), and I used only the first key, other subkeys are related to installed materials.

my registry key seemed to be fixed, but i still got my Midi driver issue after reinstall.
It is weird, this is an other topics, but I can see my midi ports inside 32 bit applications, but can not use them as they are seen as already open. while with 64bit applications, I can see midi ports, and select them and use them.
My 32bit applications are no more able to open midi ports...
this is an other topics, I am looking on many different kind of support forum to see if something similar happens to someone else, can't find any clues...

Then i tried to repair install, but got after step 5) of the tutorial, i got an error...

All Step 5 of Repair install tutorial does is connect to Update servers to get newest updates and drivers into installer. If you select it (and I would) then it will show a download. Is this when it errors out? Check your connection. Try repeatedly.

Repairs installs almost never fail. Try both choices on Step 5 and report back exact error.

Some detail about the repair install. What happened?

My issue was prior to conect internet, on step 5) I got an error reading the Hard Disk.
"Windows could not retrieve information on the hard discs drives of this computer."

It was realy a weird error!

After many tries, I finally succeed restoring a previous version of my system (full restore), but without trying to save my actual account/profile.

so finally my setup is fixed, back at its state 2 weeks ago.
