Yesterday I did a clean/custom reinstall of Win7 with formatting. IE9 is browser.

My registry (software/local machine) shows keys for Mozilla and Mozilla Plugins, though I have not installed Firefox since reinstall.

There is also a registry key for google which is my default search provider. I do not have Chrome installed.

I thought a custom reinstall with formatting eliminated unnecessary registry keys ? Should I delete these keys ?

Thanks for your help.

I believe what you have there is the Browser choice update, this could most likely be if you have slip streamed SP1 into your installation disc

What is the Browser Choice update? (KB976002)

Microsoft is providing the Browser Choice update to comply with a legal settlement with the European Commission. Microsoft is required to inform customers who currently use Internet Explorer as their default browser that there are other web browser choices available. You can use the Browser Choice update to select and install the web browser you want to use on your computer.

Who will get the Browser Choice update?

If you're using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, and you have your regional settings set to one of the following countries or regions, you’ll get the Browser Choice update through the Windows Update service:

You get Mozilla Mozilla Plugins and Google registry keys when you install plugins. Like Flash for example. That work with multiple browsers. So no, don't delete them.
