Registry, MMC or Control Panel?

Dear,..

Can anybody explain me the difference/relationship between the Windows Registry, the Microsoft Management Console and the Control Panel?

Is it correct that you can do the most settings with the Registry, the less with the Control Panel and the MMC is somewhere in the middle?

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards.

The Registry is just a data store to well store data, or in most cases configuration data. The Control Panel and MMC set configurations.

Thank you for your anwser.

So with MMC and with the Control Panel I can adjust the data in the Registry..?
In the Registry I can also adjust data.

Is it correct to say:
With the Control Panel I have access to a bit of the configuration of a computer.
With the MMC I can adjust more of the configuration of a computer.
With the Registry I have access to all the configuration of a computer and I can adjust everything.

Can you maybe recommand me a good book or a good site about management tools for Windows?

Thanks!
Caro
