Reinstaling windows 7 Pro with factory disc will not let me activate

Had to replace hard drive, now The product key code that came with the install disc will not work.
I don't know where to get help for this issue.

according to your specs you have a custom built comp, this requires a Retail Licence, please google the product key you have. if it comes back with multiple results most likely non-genuine
the COA key should be on the packaging NOT included within your disc
(OEM factory discs do not come with a product key... desktop attached to side of comp... laptop in battery compartment)

If your computer is a factory brand one, what is its brand name and model name and model number and serial/service tag number?
Does your computer have a C-O-A sticker for Windows 7 Pro and its 25-character product key?

If your computer is a custom built one, how exactly was Windows 7 Pro installed in it the first time?

It's always worth trying the phone activation. Microsoft tends to be very generous with this. The only time it failed me was for Office 2010. They just don't offer it anymore. It's abandoned software.

Its worth doing updates as the edition will be massively out of date sometimes activation require up to date software
