Reinstall fresh W7 Pro 64bit - refurb HP from bestbuy

Went to ms website for w7 d/l
typed in code
window popped up - validating.....several minutes
Error Pre-installed software by hp, contact hp

computer is cpl yrs old, want fresh install and clean everything up


Sticker on pc where code is says W7Pro for refurb pc

What do I do?

If I call HP and BB will be wasted time.


Shall I call MS or will they just laugh at me?

I visited heidoc.net and it brought me back to same issue above

I really wished I made a copy of the system when I bought it, and obtained ISO right right away, or demanded it from Bestbuy.

Heidoc does not require a key to download the Iso, input it AFTER installing W7

run Belarc Advisor, it will pick-up all your licence details.
compare the key to the one on the Refurb COA sticker they should be the same, and so should the versions.

As Siw explained, all Win 7 installation disk has all four brands (Home, HP, Pro and Ultimate). If you delete sources\ei.cfg it will ask what brand you want to install. Use the COA key to activate.

It seems as though the download tool from Heidoc is throwing up an error message again if you attempt to download 7
