Solved Reinstalled Win7 but now PC doesn't 'see' my USB3 stick

Hi. I built my PC a few months ago, all was working fine but, for reasons I won't bore you with, I had to reinstall Win7. The PC case has 2 USB3 slots (the blue ones) on the front but when I insert my USB3 memory stick, nothing happens. Yet the old card reader which I took off my old PC case (USB2) reads the USB3 stick fine. I thought there may be some BIOS option to activate USB3 but I don't see anything like that.

Can anyone suggest what the problem/cure is? Many thanks if you can.

Also, how do I sort out all these warning triangles? I've right-clicked 'update drivers' but none were found by Windows. (The unknown device is probably that old card reader.) Thanks again.

Thank you, maxie. I'd forgotten about that post-installation procedure. Seems odd to me that a modern motherboard doesn't allow you to use a USB3 port from the outset.

Anyway, I've installed 3 sets of drivers - USB, LAN and Realtek Audio but I'm still left with this stuff in Device Manager. Have you any suggestions as to how to clear those yellow warnings? Thanks again.

Windows 7 does not support USB 3 ... Install the Management Engine Interface ... Then after that select each Device right click select Property's / Details Tab .. Please Post back the the Information it should start with PCI VEN ....

Thanks, but you've lost me a bit there, never heard of MEI. Are you referring to a tweak within the BIOS? The front page of mine has an 'ME version' listed already (presumably Management Engine).

Or are you talking about downloading a driver? Intel lists dozens along the ME line but I can't decide which would be right for a Core i3-4150.

The other Device is the Asus probe take my word do not Install it ... Is your Sound working ? As for the other Device must be some to do with the Asus Software ...

Sorry, which is the 'probe' - the first or second yellow triangle. You say 'don't install it' but if it's in that list, isn't it already installed?

Yes, I've got sound although volume seems to have dropped after installing Realtek Audio Driver. Seems a common issue....

It is the one Unknown Device ACPI it is part of the Asus suite ... No matter why you Install the probe or not the error might go away .. But in most cases after being Installed it gives an error Message in every fresh boot ...
