I was playing game when suddenly my computer shut off. When I tryed to reboot the computer, it got as far as before the Windows 7 logo but never showed it. My computer would not start up. I backed up everything on my computer to an external hard drive. I did a clean reinstall of windows with the repair disk. But the strange thing is, it still won't start up. I didn't have that backed up data on the external drive attached to my computer when I tried to start up again so it has nothing to do with that external drive. My Dad thinks it has something to do with the computer bios but he doesn't want to edit anything in there since he is afraid of making things worse. My Dad also thought it had something to do with the computer memory since when he tried to start up the computer through Norten, it had an error about not having enough memory. Can anyone help us fix this problem?

Hi,

To rule out memory as the issue I'd advise removing all memory then inserting 1 stick at a time to see if it boots up. If you experience the same from all sticks then you may want to try opening the bios and selecting 'BIOS defaults'.

   Note
BIOS access and settings vary with each brand. Check your computer documentation on how to correctly change BIOS settings.
