hi,
i got a new HP laptop which came pre-installed with 'windows 7 home premium 64bit'. configuration
i5 2.5Ghz
ram 6Gb
from the day i bought it, noticed problems like 'Com surrogate stopped working' while using windows picture viewer and Bex error messages while installing games. i checked out forums that asked for removing Nero software[/COLOR], but i didnt have it. some other programs were also mentioned for removal and i didnt have them either. only solution given were some softwares for charge.
is there any other way?:(
also if i remove the preinstalled operating system, can i reinstall it later (using the original product key given along with the laptop, as a sticker on the base)?
i am new here, help would be really appreciated. thanks already.

will be looking for your answers and prompt ones that too.

by the way how can i update the drivers for the hardware, or will that be taken care of by windows update?

You can also consider the HP Minimal Factory Recovery which gets rid of most of the crap.
