Hi, I've already installed Windows 7 64bit Upgrade on my Vista laptop. I love it.

But, I'll be returning the laptop to the manufacturer (HP) for some hardware issues and they may very well format the hard drive (or rather, restore it to its original factory condition) since that's what they've instructed me to do. They said they'd do it anyway if I haven't already.

I'm concerned about reinstalling Windows 7 upgrade. Is there a process I need to go through before sending the laptop back so's to easen the flow of reinstalling it later on? Will there be any problems with reinstalling it (atop of course my original OS (Vista 64 bit))

Mind you.....
I recall years ago sending back another laptop to HP and pleading with them 'NOT' to format the drive since I knew for sure it was a hardware issue. Just as it is this time as well.

Well, turned out they didn't back then and I'm hoping they'll also listen to me this time.

Just make sure you Backup your data first.

Oh yeah, that would go without saying. But there would be no problems with reinstalling Windows 7 upgrade?

Reinstallation is no longer necessary with built-in drive imaging in Win7.

Save a WIn7 backup image externally so you can simply boot the WIn7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD to "Recover Using a SYstem Image" and reimage the HD in 15-20 minutes.

That sounds even better. Thanks for the heads up. Will definitely check that out. :D
