Hey,

I had serious problem with Windows 8 Release Preview and had to fully reinstall Windows 7 (Home Premium x64) on my HP Pavillon g6. The problem is that a lot of drivers are missing, especially network related drivers. I can't connect to any network.

Please, I really need help.
Thanks.

I'd be happy to go and try to find the drivers you need. Just tell me what exact model you need for each driver, and I'll get as many as I can. You can find this info in the device manager.

Thanks. There is actually not a single data about my network card in the device manager; only bluetooth devices. There is nothing. I have no idea what could've done that.

Do you happen to know what network driver you need? Wireless or Wired? Which model do you need, as there are 12 different models.

I'll download all of them, put them in a zip, and upload it. Then you can install them all and see which ones work.

In the future follow these steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

You should have prepared by looking in your Device manager to see your exact wireless driver, put it on a stick or CD to get online quickly, gotten the rest of the drivers from Windows Updates, then after all Updates any missing drivers could be found on the the HP Downloads webpage for your model.

To determine now the exact wireless driver make/model use Hardware Identification
on the listing for wireless or network driver. Is there any driver already installed under Network drivers? You may be able to connect now by wire to get your drivers.

It might be until tomorrow when I put the download up. Only 33 percent after about 30 minutes.

If he can determine the exact make/model of the missing wireless driver using Hardware Identification then it would only need to have the one driver uploaded for him to get online and get the rest of them.

No, there is absolutely nothing. Only bluetooth drivers. I tried to connect by wire, but nothing happened. Windows didn't even notice it.

That'd be helpful, but he said there's nothing there.

Look in Device manager. Those detected devices will be cued up as missing drivers. The one you are looking for is network driver, wireless LAN, or similar.

Click on it to open its Properties box and follow the link's procedure to translate it's exact make/model.

"Network controller", but the make is unknown and they say something about a code 28 error.

Not really. Googled, and different things for every result.

Hi,

Look underneath your laptop and post the exact model of your laptop - HP pavilion G6 is too generic. We can then find a download link for you for the driver. After that, you should be able to connect to the internet and then let Windows update do the rest for you.

Regards,
Golden
