Solved Relationship between Bags and BagMRU keys

Basically, deleting any of the number subkeys in the "Bags" and/or "BagMRU" keys would clear the folder views for whatever folders the number keys were for.

Whenever you change the folder view of a folder, a number key is created for it.


The amount of time it takes a folder to open would most likely be from the contents of the folder itself instead though.

For example, if the folders is full of image or video files, it may take a bit for the thumbnails to load. If the folder is from a network location, it may take a moment for it to connect and sync before fully loading.

But what effect does deleting a Bags key, but not deleting the corresponding BagMRU key have? That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Normally, you would delete both, but if you only delete a "Bags" key, it may not fully clear the folder view.

Personally, I don't think anything in the "Bags" and "BagMRU" keys would be responsible for the slow loading of your folders.

It's only new folders (i.e, folders that were just created and haven't been opened before) that load slowly, and it only happens when the Bags key has filled up, and after resetting the Bags and BagMRU keys they load normally again. It's because I have I've set the BagMRU Size extremely high (20000), so presumably has to parse all the existing Bags entries before it creates a new one for the folder I just opened. I set it that high because once it hits the BagMRU Size limit it stops saving folder views, or starts deleting them, so lowering it will just create that problem.

Anyway, thank you for your help! I think I have a better idea now of how the keys work, so I'll try experimenting and see what happens.
