I switched on my Windows 7 Pro laptop for the first time today. After the normal delay in booting (I need to do a re-install of the OS), I saw a 'Windows Security Alert'. The firewall had blocked part of a program, whose name I did not recognise.

So I looked in Control Panel's uninstall list and saw that the program had been installed today. Yesterday, I had downloaded a free mp3 editor and I guess that it had been placed on my laptop to install at the next switch-on.

Searching the internet I discovered it's function and that it was difficult to remove, without downloading more programs. This I ignored and used Windows normal uninstall, which removed it from the uninstall list.

However it was still in it's program folder, so I deleted it manually and then opened the Recycle Bin and deleted it from there.

Hopefully it's gone.

Many thanks. You are correct.

I used regedit and found a few entries, but did nothing. Then CCleaner found one entry, so cleaned with CC.

Then I used regedit and they were all gone.
