Couldn't make TightVNC to work.

Radmin is not installing on Win7.

RDP requires a password. Will try following for blank passwords:
Allow Blank Passwords for Vista Remote Desktop - Mars Box

Anyone got remote access to work in Win7? This becomes important when the PC is used as a media center and has only TV connected as the monitor.

There's always Dameware instead. It works excellently, all builds. But RDP should work, ya.

Yeah Dameware is awesome. I pushed for that at work and I won and that's our choice remote tool now. The only drawback is that I don't think they are free for personal use. Can't verify because they are down at this very second.

Anyway, does anyone know of a free and/or opensource alternative that will let you remote in on a home network without needing to log in and log the other user out? Sometimes I'm too lazy to get up and go into the other room to check something out on my other PC and I'm afraid to log myself out because I can't remember if I saved my Ableton Live project. Then I have to get up because I have lost way too much work over the years by logging myself out remotely.

I just spent like 5 min editing my post and it won't let me update it and I lost the new one...

Is there a way to force/allow RDP natively NOT log the current user out? I havent experimented with multiple user accounts and I was able to get Win7 to allow passwordless remote logins via RDP with homegroup permissions. Havent really put much effort into getting it to work with fast user switching (or whatever they call it in Win7). If it can't be done, I am totally open to a 3rd party tool if it is free and/or opensource and works, especially without a password. I have to enter my password at work 72 times a day (yes I counted for a week and averaged) and one more can put you over the edge some days ;)

280 or so US Dollars for Single user License -- FORGET IT.

RDP should work and is FREE. SAVE YOUR MONEY
