Remote Desktop connection question

Hello...was wondering if anyone might be able to help with a Remote Desktop connection issue that I'm having. I have a tablet running Windows 7 Pro.
On the tablet, I've saved a remote desktop connection at c$\Users\Public\Desktop. I've saved the credentials in the connection. The connection is pointed at a terminal server running Windows Server2003.

I have a different user log into this tablet, and run this remote desktop
connection, the connection works okay, but they are prompted to enter a password at the login screen on the terminal server. The username that I saved in the connection appears on the login screen, just not the password.

Can it be set up so that the logged on user would use the password that I saved when I created the rdp connection?

easton,

I realize I am not answering your specific question BUT there is a much better free program available.

I would recommend you investigate this link... Team Viewer is reliable & virtually fool proof. A lot of us here use it with great success.

Hi Jan,

I've not tried this program, but use Remote Desktop regularly to access local machines and servers. In what ways do you find TV superior? Is it more responsive?

Thanks,
James

If I am understanding correctly, the problem may be that you are logged in as a different user rather than the user for whom the account is set up, so it asks for a password. You could try setting up another account on the host that corresponds to the username you are attempting to connect from.

I have used Teamviewer tons of times. Being a coder with PHP, and having friends that are way better than u at PHP TV comes in handy when they are assisting(or doing it all) you with sites. You can have the choice to give the user full access to your computer or none at all. By that i mean able to control your mouse ect.. It is a very handy program. I have used it for almost 2 years now.

Hi James.
I too have used Remote Desktop over the years... and was encouraged to try TV.
In spite of all my protests I reluctantly tried it. Now there is no looking back.
TV is used here for many hours per day.
I would suggest you download it to try. Then you too will have an accurate personal comparison of benefits or lack of etc.

Have you read through the Doc Brown's "Tutorial" link that I supplied?

Thanks James...that's correct...I'm using the rdp connection from account other than the account that I used to create the connection. The host (terminal server)
in in a domain and the accounts that we use to log into are Active directory accounts, rather than local account on the terminal server.
