"this remote connection can harm your computer
That sounds like an Internet Security Suite of some kind message to me.
Could be wrong though.

And yes, you can use any of the myriad Remote Connection applications on the market with Win 7. Or mstsc , etc.

Which AV are you using? It is flagging your remote connect.

Replace it with Avast free home, lightest weight and not intrusive, yet fully effective.

Before they gave me a disc that I installed on my desktop that I would open up and work that way.I want to order this computer tonight but want to make sure its going to work from home.I was using the program they game untill just recently I had to connect with my laptop because my desktop crashed and I had misplaced the program.I called work and nobody was there to give me a replacement disc,They had me call my I.T. dept to help.

I explained to the I.T. dept what happened and he was like you really dont need the disc I can help you logg in he had me go this website called gotomeeting.com were he took over my computer and put something on my desktop that I click on and it gives me this message

The publisher of this remote connection can not be identified do you want to connect anyways.

Thats how I been conecting the last 3 days I just want to make sure windows 7 will work because the laptop and desktop are xp.The guy at bestbuy says I need windows 7 Pro but I take what they say with a grain of salt.

Ask your I.T. Dept or the guy that took over your computer to install the remote software if it is Windows 7 compatible. Simplest solution. If it is you should be fine.

I got an answer but for some reason Im sure does this make sense to you guys this was the answer in my email

Premium is just fine we will have to use the "remote desktop service"to connect to the terminal server .windows 7 premium has the remote desktop option ,,,,

I dont know about you guys but I thought premium couldnt?

After arguing with my I.T dept via email he sent me this

The confusion comes from the fact that RDC consists of 2 components.
Remote Desktop Client. This is the software that allows a computer to CONNECT TO another computer.
Remote Desktop Host. This is the software that allows enables the computer to HOST a connection from another computer.

The client is used by the system you are physically located at.
The host is used by the system you are connecting to remotely.

Windows 7 Home Premium (as well as all version of XP, Vista, and Windows 7) has the remote CLIENT.
Any Windows 7 machine can remotely access any machine that has remote desktop host.

Windows 7 Home Premium DOES NOT have the remote desktop host. Other computer can not remotely access a Windows 7 Home Premium machine.

So if you have two computers one with Pro and one with Home.
The Home machine and the Pro machine can access any computer with Remote Desktop Host installed.
The Pro machine can be accessed by any machine with the Remote Desktop Client installed.
The home machine can not be accessed by ANY machine (regardless of if they have the host and/or client).

He says Im the client and there the host does that make sense should I give up the argument and go with 7 premium

He would be correct, i believe.

If you are using the system for business use,,, always go with Pro or Ultimate.

The Home PC would not be able to recieve a connection from any system using Remote Desktop Connection. But, there are other tools available that you can use, such as mentioned earlier.... as well as....

LogMeIn

DameWare
TightVNC

Be careful with some as they are not as secure as others,,, you need to learn about these things before you start using them.

Do a google search on Remote Computing.

RDP client and RDP Host are two different things.

Premium does not have RDP host but it does have the client.

Any version of Windows 7 can connect out to another computer, but only the top tier versions can be connected to remotely. That is my understanding, at least.
