Solved: Remote desktop + remote audio

I have 2 laptops, both connected cable+wifi to a 4port router. Main PC is Windows 7 Home Prem x64, the other which is now a dedicated jukebox, XP Pro SP3 x86.

Both laptops also have minijack-to-phono leads from their headphone sockets to different inputs on the back of the same amplifier. So all computer audio comes out of the home cinema.

I remote desktop without problem, but when I work in another room (and unplug Win7 from home cinema) and open music (on XP), I can't hear it from the hifi - only the Win7 laptop's speakers.

Is there a way to play audio remotely, and not have it sent via wifi to play locally?

OK, so I should clarify that I have tried (it doesn't work for my desktop shortcut) but:

Start --> Search "Remote" --> Open --> options --> local resources --> "play audio remotely" doesn't work. 'Play locally' works, but remote doesn't.

REMOTE audio: I have a similar problem to this one

Instead of an XP machine hooked to an audio amp I have a WINDOWS 7 & cannot get any output from that mahine if I log onto it remotely. Where do I look to change the settings? I found under CONTROL PANEL the SOUND utility & when I double click it displays an ICON with REMOTE AUDIO & double clicked properties. I both disabled & enabled the device & nothing.

Do I need to do this from the REMOTE machine?
