Removable Disk drive

In my Win 7 setup, I have a drive that is called JRemovable Disk). It seems to be "Canon MX700 series USB Device". I do not know what it is for, and I really do not want it. Could someone describe it to me, and tell me if I should get rid of ot, and, if so, how?

Does your printer have a USB flash card reader built into it ?

Doc, wouldn't you believe it, it does. I never knew.

It has a big slot that says "CF" (Compact Flash) and a smaller slot saying "SD", "MMC" and "MS" (SD secure memory card, MultiMedia Card, and Memory Stick, I guess).

Well, that is no excuse

The fact is that I connect my camera via a USB cable to a USB port on the computer, so I would prefer to get rid of the drive, if possible. Is it?

I always tell people not to go through the hassle of cabling the camera to the computer. It is much easier to pop the card out and into a card reader such as the one in your printer.

I'll try it next time just for fun. However, it is no problem here; I have a cable laying around, attached to the computer, and it works fine.
