I'm new to Windows 7, but am learning to love its design. My OS is Windows 7 home premium, 32 bit. My problem is that somehow, inadvertently, I've placed three application programs on my desktop with their icon. Each one has an additional shortcut icon, with an arrow, that allows me to open the program. I'd like to remove the icons that refer to the programs, but when I tried to delete one of the icons the program wouldn't run. Any idea what I did to get there, so I won't do it again, and how to remove those program icons? Your help is much appreciated.

Which shortcuts would you like removing?

If you right click one of them and select properties, then select the 'Open File Location' option where does it take you?

Sorry for the delay. We just got our electric power and the internet back on. Big storms! The location of one file is just Desktop. The other file is different. When I right click, the menu shows only OPEN. Thanks so much for your help. Take care...........Kim
