remove program lines from start up

Hi,
I am having problem with removing programs from start up.
They have been disabled and that is fine, but they still appear in start up menu although I remove all registry entries for the program I removed. I can not think of any other possible reason that keeps the programs still.

REGEDIT then you get the windows registry editor: First thing you will want to do is Click on the "+" signs to expand the sections and follow down to each of these two keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST.

Dissabling a program does not remove it, MISSED that bit.

As the program is there it will re-right the entries back.

Please confirm WHICH menu

Easiest way I've found to control Start-up items is AutoRuns from Microsoft ( Sysinternals )

Autoruns for Windows - Windows Sysinternals | Microsoft Docs Full documentation is included.

I find that the option to UN-Check an item to temporarily disable startup of an item, then go back after you're sure there are no bad side effects and delete is the best way to work.

The program is the only one I know of that actually lists every form of start-up and allows you to control it

Hi,
I believe ccleaner can remove items from the msconfig start up menu
If one has unchecked an item using msconfig start up and later uninstalls the utility/ program it leaves a Unknown item listing not sure if that is what is being referred too here.

There are 3 ways to start a program with windows.
- A Link on Startup folder (C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Startup or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup)
- A register enter on a Run key
- A scheduled task (%windir%\system32\taskschd.msc /s)

it is strange in this case, because I did this several times successfully, but this time no luck :confused:
The thing is that when I check referred registry location I can not find any names related with the programs shown on start up menu. I hope pictures could explain better what I am trying to say.
