Solved Remove "(Recovered)" MsConfig.

You can rename that entry to whatever you like by using "EasyBCD" free edition.

In addition, whenever an OS has been recovered like that using Startup Repair, it needs to have System Restore reset because it will have a C listing in System Protection which is no longer functioning. So go to System Protection to highlight the existing C listing, click Configure and turn off Protection, which will be set to zero disk space anyway. Then highlight the Recovered C and turn on Protection, making sure plenty disk space is apportioned to save more Restore Points for longer: System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage

gregrocker, quick EasyBCD question: Presently, System Reserved is the boot partition [I believe]. If I add the ability for Windows 7 to boot from files on c-drive, can I have the partition be 1st choice, with c-drive boot being a "backup boot?"

Addendum: thanks Greg! OP's "recovered" question led me to try your other solution! Ok, no more from me - unless it's directly related to OP topic.

Roland -

Sometimes when you move the Boot manager from System reserved to C by marking it Active and then running Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times, it is possible to reactivate System Reserved by merely moving the Active flag back to it. But you may need to again run Startup Repair.

Let us know how this goes if you try it. But it would be better to use your own thread which is titled aptly.
