Remove Shut Down from Start Menu

How do I remove JUST show down from the start menu? Thanks.

I've seen those methodes but all I want is to remove the shut down option and nothing else...

Are you trying to totally remove the button or just change the shut down option?

I want the shut down option to be gone. But just that and nothing else.

The only thing I can find leaves you with only Log Off, Switch User and Lock. The same as richc46.

You don't say which Windows 7 you are running but if you've got gpedit.msc (I haven't so I can't try this) maybe this link will do it.

I've also found the shortcut "command" for shutdown:-

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00"

Though what you would do with that....

I have win 7 ultimate 64 bit so I have gpedit.msc but that tutorial doesn't help me because I want just the shut down option to be gone...
