Removing analog channels completely?

Hello!

I have a problem ... I'm using Gigabyte U8000 and an analog cable TV signal. Now, the TV card got some channels listed five times (small frequency variations), and others three times, some channels are normally only once. There is just one problem, I cannot remove the channels, I can only disable them. And now I have a really huge mess in my channels area. Can I do something?

Thanks!

Rerun TV setup

Assuming you are requesting this info for WMC and not another application:

Leaving your USB device powered up and on the same port, open Media Center, scroll to:

Tasks>Settings>TV>Set Up TV Signal

making sure any information requested is accurate.

If even after re-running setup you have this issue, you can manually remove the unwanted channels:

Tasks>Settings>TV>Guide>Edit Channels

and uncheck any channel you wish to not see in the Guide.

Well, the settings are correct, that's sure and it is for WMC in Windows 7. I don't really want to just disable the channel, I would like to remove it from the listing somehow, and I cannot seem to be able to do that.

That's exactly what I don't want ... I would like to remove them and not disable them. The problem, I guess, is in the fact that there is no guide and EPG for our county, so WMC had to scan for probable channels and got them wrong. But is there really no way to completely remove one channel?

Well, I have completely re-edited the channel lineup, I've renamed the channels properly, sorted them and disabled the duplicates. I cannot change anything else about the channels, like delete them or fine tune their frequency.

I'm sorry, but I guess I don't really understand your question. How do I switch from one channel to another ... is that what you mean? I use the channel + button on my remote. Other than that I don't know what you mean.

No, that's not the only option. I can enter a channel number, but there are 3 channels listed under number 2, and so on.

Not sure what else to tell you...

In windows media center, you can change the "channel" number entered...use WMC>Settings>Guide>Edit Channels>click on a channel, enter channel such as 2221 or 221 for 2.1, depending on your settings.

I am not sure why you would not be able to remove channels, except that you say you are not using the guide..the channels are there, if you enter the associated channel number it will go to that channel - the guide settings can remove unwanted channels from being selected in the guide, but if you manually enter that channel the tv tuner will change to it, even it's white dots and black marks...

I would like to be of more assistance but I am not in your zone so I cannot mimic your setup.

Good luck.

Anyone else have any suggestions for roklipni?

Have you tried to perform a reset on WMC and then see if you can import only the channels that you want to allow?

Well, I've changed channel numbers, so that they are normal - one for each number. But still, I would like to be able to remove the channels from the channels settings, not just disable them, because it's a big mess in the channel settings.

I'll try preforming a reset and importing the channels I want.
