Renaming folders using wildcats

It is not possible to rename folders using wildcats for a batch file;
are there any alternatives ?

trying to rename folder vb_X_X using vb_*

Hi there. Do you mean you have lots of folders with various name variations of VB_something and you want to rename them _X_X?

You might want to have a look at File Menu Tools which has an advanced renamer on the context menu.

A LOWLY LAPTOP!
I suppose every 2 months I will have one new vb_X_X_X folder that contains sub folders; I am using a batch file to change the names of some sub folders. It's not a big deal to change the name of the main folder though;

I am in contact with the developer of File Menu Tools; unfortunately his application does not support command lines
