Solved Reoccuring BSOD after performing clean reinstall factory OEM Windows 7

Hi all,

I have been having issues with my pc for about a month now. It has been tough diagnosing what is causing my pc to crash/ prompt BSOD's. I was away for a year and left my pc unplugged and out of use. When I came home, I tried booting it and ran into problems. Cleaned fans/ heat sinks and reapplied new thermal paste (Arctic Silver 5) to the processor and the graphics card.

I performed a clean reinstall of factory OEM Windows 7 by following gregrocker's tutorial.
I am unsure at this point what my random crashes are due to. My thoughts point toward hardware failure.... any input and help would be greatly appreciated.

I think he solved it Yussi. This is from his other thread.

Honestly what pointed me to it was that after all my research and testing, I narrowed it down to a hardware issue. I tested my HDD and that was fine. Cleaned out my heat sinks, applied new thermal paste, etc. I figured it had to be either the mother board or the PSU.

I was getting a lot of BSOD's, and in Event Viewer I was noticing that a lot of my crashes were due to "Kernel Power Failure" or other Kernel things.

Since the PSU is the power source, and it is also cheaper and easier to install/ take out than the mother board, I figured I'd just swap it out and try.

It worked
