Repair install without SP1 disk

I see Brink added a repair install for Win 7 using the Win 7 disk to repair an install that has SP1 installed,but the win 7 disk is not by using Compatability mode and Vista SP2. I assume this will work and has anyone tried it?:huh:

It works perfectly with a "retail" Windows 7 installation DVD/USB/ISO copy without SP1 on the same Windows 7 with SP1 installed on the computer.

What type of Windows 7 installation disc do you have?

I have retail version Of Win 7 Home Premium Upgrade

Are you saying that you are unable to use compatibility mode with your installation disc?

OK,I have Win 7 SP1 installed on my pc. I wish to do a repair install but I have deleted the backup files for SP1 a long time ago,so I cannot uninstall SP1. SO can I do a repair install using my Retail disc of Win 7 and do a repair install like you have stated in your tutorial Windows 7 SP1 installation using "retail" Windows 7 without SP1 installation disc.

When I insert the disc and right click on setup.exe and go to compatability mode and run it as Vist SP2 this will work?

Unfortunataly, compatibility mode will have to be used to do a repair install when you have Windows 7 with SP1 installed on the computer and using a Windows 7 without SP1 installation disc. Otherwise, it will give you the error below.
