I have been following the suggested solutions to the problem I have, relating to the error message "Windows installer has stopped working..." One of the solutions I tried is as shown below:

Windows Installer - Simple Fix that worked for me.

All the complicated fixes I've tried even those from Microsoft did not work. This one below worked perfectly to repair Windows Installer issues:

HERE IS THE FIX THAT WORKED FOR ME : Start, then Run, then type regedit Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT CONTROL SET\SERVICES\MSIserver\WOW64 Right click on WOW64, then select Modify Set Value Data to 0 (mine was set at 1) and Base should be Hexadecimal Close everything, reboot, and see if you can uninstall or re-install.

My problem: I can't see/find the WOW64 in the MSIserver. What should I do? Please help!

Work through the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/220165-troubleshooting-steps-windows-7-a.html starting with full Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpwyare scans, SFC to see if System Files are damaged, then if so and it cannot repair them according to the SFC tutorial, consider a Repair Install. I'd actually complete all of the steps including running only a Clean Boot, using the recommended free lightweight AV at least to test the change, and culling the logs and utilizing System Resources to find problems and solutions. Everything is laid out in the tutorial.
