Reparing icons?

I've had broken icon's every so often and i don't know how to fix it , doesn't happen in vista :D

The original icon is broken aswell... but if you click on properties it shows the icon next to the name...

Have you tried changing the icon for the shortcut to something else and then changing it back.

Try this..

Delete the "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\IconCache.db" hidden file
and then restart the computer.

This bug is still present in x86 RTM. Having long experience with Windows, I knew to delete the iconcache.db file when it first happened a couple of weeks ago, when a few icons spontaneously reverted to generic form (except in property sheets) for the associated shortcut. It's happened again, this time affecting a pinned program on my taskbar. I'm just amazed they still haven't got this right in Windows 7. Are there any registry hacks that help with this, like the old "Max Cached Icons"? Does that one help in Win7?
