Repeated BSOD/crashing issues

Starting a week ago I've been crashing repeatedly. Sometimes its a BSOD, but most of the time the display freezes(though music or video game sounds will continue) until I manually hit the power. Upon starting up again the problem event is always BlueScreen. The crashes have followed no pattern so far.

Here is the necessary information as instructed in the sticky:

Windows 7 pro x64
Not the original OS, was installed after fully formatting an XP install
CPU, mobo, main HDD, and RAM are about a year and a half old
GPU is about a month old
PSU is five years old
The OS is about a month old

Stop code 116 is usually related to graphic card. The first thing to try is to re-install the graphic card driver.
When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

The best thing to try is to try another graphic card on your system to see if it make any differences.

I uninstalled the video driver, cleaned up with driver sweeper, and reinstalled it. Hoping for the best now.
