Repeated Failed Security Updates

Hi there, I have just joined this forum and need help with an ongoing issue with my PC. I have been having consistent failing of the attached log of Security Updates & Security Updates for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 for sometime now. The automatic run and install updates fail's repeatedly. I am not a computer tech, I have read the help in windows 7 and have not found the answer's to this problem. Please help. Answer's in basic non tech speak please.

Hi ladycruiserride. If you go into Control Panel and then click on Troubleshooting a page will open showing a range of 5 sections, each offering to troubleshoot and repair a selection of items. The last section of the 5 is named System & Security and the first item in that section is 'Fix Problems with Windows Update'. Simply click on that and a Wizard will take you through the procedure. I recently had Update problems and running this solved things for me.

You might want to consider upgrading to Internet Explorer 9 too, it is more secure than IE8.

You need to select the correct region and architecture i.e. are you using Windows 7 32-bit or Windows 7 64-bit?
