Hello, at first: sorry for my bad english, I'll do my best.
I want to replace the complete User folder before Windows 7 is installed. I've read about it in many forums and i've used the search function too, but i didn't find anything.
Before I've done this with nLite and Win XP and heard about vLite but there is no option for replacing any folder. I've tried many different options and also have changed the Unattend.xml file like i read in several forums. But it didn't work.
Can anyone help me with my problem? I would be pleased, if someone could attach his unattend.xml file or anything like this

greetings, yt

PS: Nice forum, I found many help here, but now i decided to register to find an answer :/

Hi YT, and welcome to Sevenforums

Depends on how many times you want to do this ;)

If you are building a slipstreamed install for many users then the Windows Automated Install Kit is the official method and should allow you to do this. Not sure if this is now at RTM level but I know that the WAIK is available for Windows 7 at least to Beta level on the Technet site.

If you are looking to make this system change on an Ad-Hoc basis It can be achieved by the use of junction points after the install You will need the Movefiles Utility form sysinternals as this is a system folder but the redirect should be totally transparent to the OS when complete

^this, I think. I have to make a "new" Windows for school with vLite, to save all User-Data on D:\ because of SSH keys or so. The teacher said, that no files should be lost if anyone format C:\, or Windows got an Error... whatever. He said also, that he has done this with Win-XP by using nLite what I'm trying right now, to see how it basically works.

Depends on how many times you want to do this
I want to do this on nearly every computer at school.

greetings.
