Replacing all components apart from HDDs

Hey guys

I've found this guide http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/135077-windows-7-installation-transfer-new-computer.html for changing all my components except HDD.

My question is, I currently use my install as an HTPC. If I use the sysprep method, will the codecs (ffdshow etc) work correctly afterwards, or will I have to go through installing them all again?

I understand graphics drivers will need re-installing.

or the player that doesn't even neeed them to work.

I would reinstall them either way. The active x controls can get a little weird when you mess with ...well just about anything. I know people have things against codec packs but I've personally been using cccp for years without complaint.

Yeah, well I definitely need the codecs packs. I use Sharks007 at the moment. I don't want to use VLC as I'm using Windows Media Center

Does the CCCP make Windows Media Center play MKVs etc?

yes.
There is also the approach of just grabbing the specific codecs you know you need.

note: their download rates kind of suck because it's a free service but everything works.
