Replacing my NVDIA GTX 460, how to pick a replacement that will fit?

My NVDIA GTX 460 is dying. It's old, it's about time. Is there an easy way to tell what replacement card I can buy that will fit? (My specs are in my profile). If I purchase any 460 series, is it a safe bet that it will fit?

Most 460s will work but you should look at it there are some that are short, long, standard. Looking at this Access Denied all should work. Should have a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot some cards will be double wide and need 2 opening to fit.

According to this link, the "must" cards are listed.

Access Denied

However, I would think that any card that's PCI-2 Express x 16 would work as long as its not physically
too large for your case. You would want to make sure its connections are at least as good as the monitor you're using.

Thank you both for the replies, and links. After a clean install and update of the driver, I've not had problems with it since, but, I will save this thread, because, again, it's ancient, and the weak link in a computer that's still chugging after a decade.
