LiquidSnack, I totally agree with you on Thank you being nice. I'd rather have a poster come back, to post a short thank you if the solution has worked, than to see the thread is dead after I responded so I have no way of telling if my help was OK, or if the OP just lost his temper with my inability to help.

This is why I think a short "Thank you, I got it working" is far more important than rep from other geeks reading that thread. So please, dear fellow geeks, you don't have to rep if you don't want to. But take the time it needs, a minut or so, to post feedback. In my opinion, a good, solved issue thread (not talking about those forever living threads like Jokes or Post your desktops) is a thread started and ended by the same meber; first post to describe the issue, last post to thank participating members for their input.

You just have to get used to it. Giving rep is not obligatory, getting it should not be the reason to offer help.

Agree!! And you need a lot of patience for that (which I do not have - LOL). Getting people out of BSODs is hard labor. I leave that to you young folks.

Exactly! Very well stated, Doc. Frequently, I need help from the hardware, networking, and security Guru's to solve a BSOD problem. And that help always comes.

I thank all of you for the compliments on the BSOD squad. It is work to analyze BSOD's; but it is greatly rewarding. WHS, thank you for the compliment on being a young guy; I like that!
