Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0

This is a problem with my own laptop, and I've just updated by specs.

I almost exclusively use IE11 and it's been freezing up a lot lately for 30 seconds to a minute. I've done the whole checking for malware (Malwarebytes, JRT, ESET Online Scanner, ADWCleaner), as well as a reset to IE, and nothing has made a difference.

I checked Event Viewer and saw a whole slew of Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued messages under System with a Source of amdsata.

I've downloaded and run Speccy if you need any more details for my system.

RaidPort0: That's possibly your HDD (or perhaps the DVD drive). You can check the HDD health with its manufacturer's tools.
Also, check in BIOS what SATA Operation Mode are you in - AHCI or RAID?

I started using Internet Explorer Without Add-Ons before I posted. It seems to work without freezing up, but I'm at a loss as to why, since the only add-on that's not disabled is Shockwave Flash Object.

I'll check the BIOS when I get a chance to shut it down. I'm currently downloading a pretty large file.

I have combed through HP's BIOS, as well as all the details from Speccy, and can find nothing that indicates SATA Operation Mode, so unless you've got specific instructions on how to access that information on an HP G62 Notebook, that question will go unanswered.

Meanwhile, I ran HP's HDD Diagnostics. It ran both a short and a long test and took well over an hour, but it passed.

My problem actually started when I created a new user on the laptop for my wife. Her HP Pavilion has been shutting down without warning for about a week and my topic in General Discussions went without resolution. So I made a new account for her on this laptop and let her use it. The freezing up started almost immediately, both on her new ID and my old one.

I haven't tried safe mode with networking, since it seems to be operational running IE11 with No Add-Ons.

From the tutorial:

Running Internet Explorer in this mode will disable ActiveX controls, browser extensions, browser helper objects, toolbars and some customizations.

You can try running in cmd (as admin) just in case:

sfc /scannow

And if any corruption is found:

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

This problem has just begun to reoccur after spontaneously stopping almost a year ago. I have no idea if this is related to the topic I posted in Performance & Maintenance - http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/393557-never-ending-stream-not-responding.html
