resetting home group

I had homegroup working fine but due to hard drive failiure i had to re-install windows 7 on host computer and didn't make note of password.None of the other pcs on home group will display password and i can't start a new one.How do i fix problem.

tried this before and the other computer wont display password.

I tried that as well and it says windows is unable to leave homegroup.

Sounds like your network is royally messed up. Time to punt and try again. You really need to write down the Homegroup password the first time you set up Homegroups. Reinstall Windows if you can't get it working.

Some more info on using Homegroups from the TechNet site that might help. It's hard to say exactly what the problem is when you can't leave the Homegroup because it's supposed to just work although there are ways of messing it up.

The section that talks about trouble shooting might help you out. Don't install any type of anti virus until after you have Homegroups set up and working.
