Resize Partition?

My core hard drive has 3 partitions.. 1 for hidden 7 at 100mb, 1 for core windows C: at 120gb, and another at 356gb for my profiles// docs etc..

I am starting to run a bit low on the C: partition. Programs, games, etc.. I need to pull some space from the D: to C:. I have tried Disk management, and Easeus partition manager, both of which will let me Shrink the D Drive, however, neither will let me add storage onto the C: Drive once it is un-allocated.. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion I can use to accomplish this..

Sound to me like you need to move some personal Data to the D drive.
Adding a partition might be a waste of space.
120gig should be more than enough for all installed programs.

120 gb is not enough for all installed programs.. Some of the programs/games I now have installed exceed 10gb in size. I have just over 20gb free on the C drive, and I want to add to it. All my personal data is on the D drive. Anyone know of a way to take space from one partition and add it to another? Trying to find a way of doing this that does not involve re-installing Windows..

Acronis Disc Director can do that.
Move any partition wall wherever you want.

Tried the free trial.. Running it, it states is not compatible with my version of windows.. Running Windows 7 64 bit.. Compatibility troubleshooter did not bear any fruit with that either.. Thanks though..

I have had good success with Gparted. Its open source. A link is below my sig.

I just got around to installing DDS on W7 x64, without any problem. I know that what came on the CD was only for x32 and I had to download the x64 version. Since I don't remember exactly how I got it, I took a glance at the Acronis download options and didn't see anything except one choice, and I imagine that is the x32 version. I think that I got the download link from Acronis support, but I don't know if they have a trial version of x64 or not.

What I said previously about about having to download a x64 version of DDS wasn't true, I got mixed up with TI 10. I did use it a bit earlier to delete one partion, resize another and to move one partition to another location, and didn't run into any problems.

Musiclover 7 is an example of why it is not always a good idea to use multiple partitions--you end up with space issues on certain partitions, even though the drive as a whole has plenty of space; and you then have to deal with resizing, moving, third party applications, etc.

Are they Adjacent, and are they both Primary?


You can do it with the free PW.

Free Download Partition Wizard


RT click D and select Move /Resize - drag the left edge to the right your chosen amount. Click Ok, Apply.

All the data on D will be moved that many gb to the right - leaving Unallocated space on the Left - which you can Easily Extend C into.


Moving all that data on D will take a while.
