I have had this problem ever since I updated to windows 7. I crank my resolution up to my monitors native resolution of 1600X900. Then after i restart and log in the screen goes blank and resets itself to 1280x720. I have a gateway lx6810 that i replaced the stock nvidia gt120 with a radeon hd 5770. I have reinstalled the drivers multiple times with no luck. Now i have reinstalled the original graphics card but still have the same problem. Anyone have any ideas?

How are you setting the resolution? Through Windows (right click desktop, etc.)? Or through nVidia control panel or CCC? A Guy

i figured it out, thanks though, and i had used all three. Turns out the windows service for windows live mesh was causing the computer to change resolution. So the service is disabled and problem solved. :)
