I have the young fellow from next door's small 10" laptop an e-Machine eM350 with an Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66Ghz and 1GB RAM running a 32bit Basic 7 OS.
Have tried to get the resolution down to a level where everything fits on the screen for example the Google search page is so large the search window sits on top of the taskbar just about. The res is 1024x600 and I have tried to reset it but the only option is 800x600 and changing it is pointless as it defaults back to the 1024.
As it stands it is extremely exasperating to use as the opened Google page is frankly unusable as the bars at the top are huge taking up neraly a quarter of the screen and the taskbar which I have got as small as I can is still way too big. Thhe other thing that has got me beat is if I open internet options to set Google as the home page and the next tab I cannot get to the apply button - I can drag it up using the top bar and the up arrow but as soon as I let one go to apply the whole thing just drops back to where it was.
Any ideas please as have run out myself.
