I am running W7 with an ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro video card and an NEC Mutisync LCD 1860NX monitor. I have the latest drivers for both but every time I boot up my screen resolution is too low. I then right click on the desk top and select detect monitor and screen resolution reverts to 1280 by 1024 which is the setting I wish to keep. Everything stays ok until I switch off and lose the settings. Is there any way for my system to remember these settings. Although my monitor is an NEC LCD Mutisync it shows up in device manager as a generic PNP Monitor. Not sure if this is anything to do with it. Any help much appreciated.

Tried this but it does not seem to offer the drivers for the Multisync 1860NX Digital. Although it states it does support this model. Maybe it's me but I have tried searching a few sites with no luck.

the fact you can choose the resolution you want is good. Sounds like the GPU drivers are working correctly. Did Device Manager ever recognize the monitor by name? Or was it always generic PNP monitor? Does the monitor wake as soon as you turn the PC on? Your PC is acting like it doesn't see the monitor when it boots, and sets the default resolution. You are able to set it correctly because it is recognized as a resolution the monitor accepts.

You might try uninstalling the GPU driver, running drivesweeper, and seeing if windows identifies the monitor natively. If not, install the latest ATI drivers. A Guy
