Hello, I used to run on 1440 x 900 using vista 32 bit. When I installed windows 7, it changed to Generic PnP Monitor and on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. It won't allow me to change the resolution to 1440 x 900, the variable does not exist from 12x - 16x. Help, please?

It's been 11 minutes since your post after mine. Not too cool to post three times in a row like that.

Do you happen to know what this computer is called?
Is it a HP or a dell product?
It should say somewhere on the computer itself the product name, something like "MSI X320" (my computer) or "HP Pavilon c235" or "dell Inspiron mini 10v"
try to locate a sticker or something with a bunch of text. it should be the biggest one on the computer, and the computer name should be in the largest size text.

DUDE! You really should know about the computer spec's of your CPU before even operating with it, It's the most basic thing to do in a computer system.

*sigh* I really shouldn't tell you this but open the darn chassis cover and look for the graphic card's part or model number to be assured of it and tell us here in the forums so we can help your problem.

OR look at the chassis to find a brand name...

DUDE!! It could be a laptop!!!

@ watxd, try CPU-Z (direct download link) or speccy (link in me sig) to find out what your graphics card is.
Also, are you using x86 or x64 Windows 7? (Right click 'Computer' > Properties)

It's not a laptop :sarc:, its a desktop with the sis 672 chipset and the SiS Mirage 3+ graphics so that's the reason why gpu-z didn't work.

or i could be wrong...

Don't worry, I'll try to help and find the drivers :)
