restart without bsod

please could someone help me? my computer has just started restarting itself with no errors or bsod just a black screen the restart. it does not go into the startup options (safe mode etc.) just a pure restart. it will do this a couple of times a night. i have included the seven forums diag tool results if it will help. thanks in advance

Have you checked that 'automatically restart' is not checked in 'Startup and recovery'

Thanks for the reply. i have checked and it was checked so i removed it. what will this do? will it report an error?

i now have a bsod stop error says stop 0x00000098 hope this helps.

l have the same error. Only my PC just goes off with no warning at all and it will do it everytime l log in to windows and in about the same period of time....

l have not yet found an answer but l was thinking in run the elevated command prompt and run the System file checker.

Hi and welcome

this one is pretty straight forward. Probable cause was your v ideo driver and specifically the nvlddmkm.sys file.

You should use their un-installer to remove all the fragments of this driver, Then download and install a fresh copy and install it

If you are overclocking stop

Thanks Ken for the reply. I have checked on the nvidia website and the latest driver has been taken off because people have reported errors. i have downloaded and installed the next best driver and so far is ok. iff i still have probs will repost.
