Restore Points and Volume ShadowCopy ?

If "Volume Shadow Copy" (VSS) is disabled/stopped in services (admin or Local) will "Restore Points" still be available/productive ?

I consider imaging a far better option than depending on Shadow Copying.
- I do manually create Restore points but have never needed to restore ... so far !

Start -> Search:= services.msc -> Run as Admin
select "Volume Shadow Copy"
RClick -> Properties ...
... opens [Volume Shadow Copy Properties] dialog

I have no idea how one would get and use restore points if it is disabled.

To verify what might still be on you system use this in the admin. cmd prompt.

vssadmin list shadows

If by chance their are any restore points on your system they will show up there.
